Mr. Loke Gim Tay
A curated journey through color, form, and expression
Mr. Loke Gim Tay, the proud collector of a series of Classic Oil Paintings under the title of "The Lofty Sentiments Of The Three Kingdoms" is a successful entrepreneur.
After completing his basic education in Chung Ling High School, Penang, he went on to graduate with Degree In Building and Estate Management at the National Univer-sity of Singapore.
As a student in the famous high school, he devoted much of his leisure time in reading stories from the historical novel — Romance of The Three Kingdoms and was greatly inspired by the lofty sentiments of the heroes during that period.
With the close cooperation of a talented artist, Mr. Xue Jin Yong, Mr. Loke and the painter have successfully accomplished their purpose of bringing the story to life with the vivid paintings.
As the Honorary President of Chung Ling High School Alumni (Singapore) Association, Mr. Loke feels hon-oured to be invited to sponsor and present the paintings in Joint Exhibition on the History of Chinese Schools to be held on 29th November 2008 at Hwa Chong Institution, Singapore.
Mr. Loke Gim Tay told reporters that he was influenced by Chinese culture from an early age, reading the "Three Kingdoms" full of Chinese military strategy and classic warfare, and found that the book is a good book for collecting law and wisdom. Therefore, he found a god-painter, Xue Jinyong. Under the efforts of both parties, after more than ten years of hard work, through perfect creation, he completed a series of oil paintings that are absolutely unique, showing the three countries' genius.
Mr. Loke Gim Tay told reporters that the three countries are an era in which the heroes of the Chinese nation have come forth in large numbers and the laws of warfare have spread frequently. The "Confucius's Art of War" and "Cao Cao's Art of War" have emerged. In particular, Cao Cao was a famous politician and strategist at the time of the Han and Wei Dynasties. He was the author of the first book of the Sun Tzu's Art of War. "Sun Tzu's Art of War" is simple and profound, and it is not easy for ordinary people to understand the truth. After Cao Cao's collation and comments, the "grandson" was circulated throughout the country. Cao Cao also has books such as "Sends of the Book of War", "On the Book of Military Books", "Slightly on the Book of War", and corrects the notes "Sima Law".
Mr. Loke Gim Tay said that the "Three Kingdoms Armed Forces" represented by Cao Cao's Art of War showed the outstanding wisdom of the Chinese nation in various fields such as military, literature and science. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a vivid interpretation of Sun Tzu's Art of War. Its classic warfare and its population reflect the wisdom of the Chinese military culture and have a profound impact on later generations, including the world of overseas Chinese. The heart is deeply rooted, which is impossible for any literary work in the world.
